NEW! Beginning February 26th - DEVO program on Mondays!

WHAT IS DEVO?

An invitational program offered by the Figure Skating Club of Park City to help transition skaters from Skating Academy to the Figure Skating Club.

  • Devo Class: Mondays from 4:45-5:30pm.  Includes 30 minutes of group instruction, taught by our coaches (rotates weekly), and 15 minutes of practice time.
    • Fundamentals of skating and skating etiquette are offered in this class.
    • Participants may enroll in the Devo class multiple times.  Coaches will let athletes and parents know when they are ready to transition to becoming full Figure Skating Club members.
  • Devo Membership: introductory membership to the Figure Skating Club of Park City.

WHAT DOES DEVO COST?

  • A Devo membership costs $50.  This fee covers the skater's USFSA enrollment (required for competition) and a digital music keycard (we don't use CDs at our rink).  This membership lasts for 1 fiscal year (ending June 30th).
  • Devo class costs $120 per 8 week session.  Sessions will run during the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN DEVO?

  • Joining Devo is a great way for a new skater to progress in figure skating without becoming a full club member.
  • Devo members get the SAME benefits as full club members at 1/4 the cost.
  • Devo members are invited to participate in the club's Holiday Show and Spring Show.  Spring show fee is waived; costume fee is $25.
  • Devo members are excused from club fundraising requirements.
  • Devo members are excused from club volunteering requirements.

Save the Date for our Grassroots to Champions Seminar - March 24th

The FSCPC board has voted to utilize club funds to bring in a Grassroots to Champions seminar with renowned coaches, Audrey Weisiger and Chris Conte. Both coaches will be available for private and semi private lessons. A link to their bios can be found here

Winner, Star, Hero, or Champion

Which one are you?

“My goal is to make champions” –Audrey K. Weisiger

  • winner is the one who outdid all others, was better than all their competitors, and is acknowledged for their performance on that day.
  • star has irresistible charisma, regardless of the actual substance of their performance, and can be the center of attention, with or without a competent performance.
  • hero is respected for their unfailing effort, for never wavering whether successful or not, for continuing to strive to do their best regardless of result, and is respected because of their belief in the cause.
  • champion is a combination of all of the above, one who has demonstrated the ability to win, to have overwhelming appeal, to persevere and persist in all situations and demonstrates all of these qualities over a period of time that allows us to become followers and believers in that person and what they represent.

A champion has longevity and gives hope and inspiration to others.
