Skate-A-Thon Pledges:

There are 2 ways to collect pledges. Ask for pledges by sending this link to family and friends.

  1. Skaters can seek pledges and collect $ according to the number of laps they skate within their time frame, no lap limits. Skaters should input the information of their pledgees online through SportsEngine.
  2. Skaters can also obtain pledges at a flat-rate offered. Flat-rate pledges can be collected now through our SportsEngine link. Flat-rate pledges start at $10 and raise in increments to $200.

The TOP 5 collectors of pledges will be entered into a drawing to receive awesome prizes!

Lap Counters:

All skaters age 9 and older can be their own counters. Those under 9 years of age will need a counter on the sidelines. If your “under 9” needs a counter, we will assign an older skater to count for him/her. Please, email ehendrix@hendrixconsulting.com to arrange this.

Schedule:

February 19th from 4-6 PM:

3:30-3:55: 9+ CHECK-IN

4:00-4:50: 9+ skate laps

4:20-4:45: Under 9‘s CHECK-IN

4:50-5:10: Under 9’s skate with their counters on the sidelines

5:10-6:00: Party Time! Everybody (athletes, family & friends) There will be music and fun for all!

Fundraising Goals and Incentives:

The first $100 raised per skater goes to the club, 50% of the remaining funds raised goes to the individual skater.

  • Example: Jane collects a total of 1k in pledges. Jane turns in all 1k to the club and then receives a $450 reimbursement from the club to help pay for her own skating expenses. Incentives are capped at $599 per club year/per skater.

How to get pledges:

When you are collecting pledges, share what you are raising money for.

  • Example: I am skating laps to raise money for my club and my upcoming competition in April. Would you help me get there by pledging a one-time donation under my name, or an amount per lap?
    • What will the money go for? To help raise money for my figure skating club and to help raise money for myself.  All of our fundraisers allow each skater to participate in a way where they can earn up to $599 per year to help with their own skating expenses.
    • Most of our raised funds go toward helping to pay for our coaches and to help support our Spring Show.  Our fundraising efforts continue to allow us to purchase club ice times (that would otherwise go to hockey), pay our coaches for their time, put on our spring show production, plus subsidize the costs of the conditioning classes.
