Fall Freestyle Session Pre-Registration changes

As we head into the school year, we are making some changes to the ice arena pre-registration process for Freestyle sessions to accommodate the varying schedules our athletes need to navigate.

Beginning next week, you will register for 20 minute sessions. The coaches will be scheduling breaks to hopefully maximize the skater's ice time and allow more skaters to take advantage of our busy morning ice time.

For instance, if you are skating 5:40-7:00am, you would register for 5:40-6am, 6:-6:20am, 6:20-6:40am and 6:40-7am.

The cost will be the same, but this will allow for more flexibility.

Fall Off-ice classes open for Registration

Fall off-ice programs will look a little bit different as we continue to navigate the uncertainty of Covid-19. Class sizes will be limited.

All classes held at Park City Ice Arena will continue to require online pre-registration on a weekly basis. Our team of highly qualified coaches will rotate through the weekly class offerings to provide our athletes with a well-rounded training experience.

All Ballet/Contemporary dance classes held at the MARC will require program pre-registration for the entire session of classes. Katie Johnson will teach both Ballet & Contemporary dance classes this year.

Positive Coaching Alliance Partnership

We are also thrilled to announce FSCPC’s partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) for the upcoming year - with potential for an ongoing partnership.

PCA/FSCPC will be offering seven workshop opportunities this year - separate trainings for coaches, parents and athletes. More information will be sent out as available. The club is providing the workshops free to our members, but we will be asking all skaters/parents to purchase the $6 PCA workbooks, which will be used throughout the year.

PCA/FSCPC Mission: To educate and actively support the Figure Skating Club of Park City in providing youth athletes valuable, non-cognitive skills that will benefit them in athletic competitions, classroom, community and career. Positive Coaching Alliance seeks to change the culture of win-at-all cost to developing Better Athletes, Better People by teaching life lessons through sports, and educating coaches and parents to do the same.

The Positive Coaching Alliance has reached over 19 million youth athletes through 3,500 organization partnerships across the country. For more information, please visit the PCA website and/or watch this 2-minute video.

Complete your Safesport Training

This is a friendly reminder to please send your skater's SafeSport certificate to our compliance coordinator Andy Biskup: andybiskup@yahoo.com

This year's club membership requires skaters to complete their age-appropriate SafeSport module in order to be in good standing with the club. Click here to access the SafeSport page with the age-specific trainings. All are free and should take 10-15 minutes, depending on your skater's age.
