The Figure Skating Club of Park City 2017-2018


Learn to Compete Program

Skaters in the Park City Ice Arena Skating Academy programs or Get Out and Play are invited to participate in this intensive program to learn how to compete in the sport of figure skating. Over the course of 5 semi-private lessons, skaters will learn a program set to music to compete in a real figure skating competition at Park City Ice Arena. Included in the program fees are:

  • Five 30-minute semi-private lessons 
  • Five 30-minute practices
  • Two freestyle punches for extra practice
  • Learn to Skate USA registration and competition entry fees.

Competition date:                   

  • Friday or Saturday, May 18 or 19, 2019

Lesson/Practice dates:        

  • Sunday, April 22 4-5pm
  • Saturday, April 28 9:45-10:45am
  • Saturday, May 5 9:45-10:45am
  • Saturday, May 12 9:45-10:45am
  • Sunday, May 13 4-5pm

Registration costs: $125 for Five (5) 30-minute lessons, Five (5) 30- minute practices, 2 freestyle punches, Learn to Skate USA registration & competition entry fees. (please register at the front desk)  Total package value: $211

Skating Academy Spring Show Rehearsals

Lights, Camera, Action!! Be a part of this full-blown production which will include great music, fun choreography, awesome costumes, spotlights, props and all the fun you can handle! Skating Academy participants of all ages and ability levels are invited to participate in the Figure Skating Club of Park City’s Spring Ice Show, “Willy Wonka” along with members of the Figure Skating Club and Park City Icing Synchronized Skating Teams! Participating skaters will learn a program set to music during the course of 2 rehearsals and 1 dress rehearsal. The group will then perform their program at the Spring show on May 4th & 5th at 7pm.

Performance date:                    

  • Friday & Saturday, May 4 & 5, 2018 at 7pm                                           

Rehearsal dates:                     

  • Thursday, April 26 5:45-6:45pm
  • Saturday, April 28 9-9:45am

Dress Rehearsal:

  • Thursday, May 4th 4:15-6:45pm

Costumes: You will receive an email at a later date with costume information.

Registration costs: $50 for 2 rehearsals, 1 dress rehearsal, 2 performances, and costume use (please register at the front desk)

G2C Private lesson and group classes

We are so excited to welcome Coaches Audrey Weisiger and Chris Conte to our club and rink and are thankful that they will be spending so much time with our athletes. The links to the private lesson and group class schedules can be found below. There are still several spots open in some of the group classes as well as the Basic Skills group class on Friday from 12:15-1:15pm. Register for that class here.

Cancellation Policy: There will be a 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. Any no-shows or last minute cancellations will be responsible for payment of that lesson or class. 

Private lesson payments: Payment for private lessons will be made directly to Audrey or Chris at the time of the lesson. Cash or check is the only accepted method of payment. Payment for group classes will be invoiced via the club and the cost per class is determined by the number of participants.

Congratulations to Park City Icing Juvenile Team!

The 16 members of our Juvenile team represented our club, our state and our town so well at the US National Synchronized Skating  Championships in Portland, Oregon. A beautiful, clean skate, the best attitudes and all the heart made their first national experience extra special! We are so proud!

SAVE THE DATE FOR OUR 2018 SUMMER FIGURE SKATING CAMP!

Registration is open here for our kick-off to the summer training camp June 11-15, 2018. Space is limited and is quickly filling up. The add-on program is half full.

The format is the same as  last year with 2 groups: 11 & under and 12 & older OR Pre-Juvenile Well-Balanced or higher.

Camp fees will include, on and off-ice classes with instruction, freestyle sessions and an exhibition with critique.


Youth Sports Alliance Presents the Park City Nation Olympic & Paralympic Homecoming Parade

Join the Youth Sports Alliance on Friday, April 6th as we welcome our town's Olympians and Paralympians from the 2018 PyeongChang Games. 

We will celebrate Park City's Olympic Legacy with a parade down Main Street in Historic Park City featuring dozens of athletes who competed in PyeongChang and past Olympic games. 

The Figure Skating Club of Park City is invited to march in the parade. The parade begins at 5pm with autograph signing and activities to follow. 

Music and concert on Lower Main presented by the Thin Air Festival begins at  6:30 pm.

Welcome to our new coach - Stewart Sturgeon!

We are very excited to welcome Stewart Sturgeon to our coaching team. Stewart specializes in jump technique and the pole harness. He is also available as a primary coach on an extremely limited basis. Stewart will be teaching private lessons in the mornings as well as on Saturdays and may be opening more spots as needed. He will also be teaching Skating Academy classes as well as clinics and classes throughout the year. Please join us in welcoming him when you see him at the rink!

Stewart has been coaching since 1985 and is a USFS triple Gold Medalist in Figures, Free Skate, and Pairs as well as a Silver Medalist in Free Dance. He has coached athletes at the regional. sectional, national, international, world and Olympic levels. Stewart was also a featured performer in the Sun Valley summer ice shows for many years.


The competition will include free skate, compulsory events, jumps, spins, showcase light and dramatic events up to Preliminary.
