Volunteer Requirements

WORK DEPOSIT / VOLUNTEER POLICY

The Figure Skating Club of Park City could not survive without our dedicated families and community members’ volunteer support. Membership fees only cover 20% of total club expenses.  We think that it is important that we keep our programs affordable and accessible so we rely on fundraising events and donations to cover the other percentage of club expenses. In order to ensure that the club receives the required volunteer support, a payment plan will automatically be set up at the time of registration. Families will only be billed for the cost of membership during registration, with a second payment (in the amount of the Volunteer Charge) set up to run on May 31st.  The remaining payment (Volunteer Charge) will be canceled for families that work the minimum number of hours.

Families that work less than the minimum hours will be billed their full Volunteer Charge to the card on file at the end of the season.

Families will have the option to "buy out" their volunteer requirement and pay the Volunteer Charge in full at time of registration.

Volunteer hours for each skating season must be completed between June 1st and May 31st.  All volunteer hours are tracked through the Sports Engine DIBS system. If you volunteer for an event or job not listed in the DIBS system, you must contact the FSCPC Volunteer Coordinator to receive credit for your hours. Credit will then be assigned manually in the DIBS system.

We highly encourage FSCPC athletes ages 9 and up to help their families fulfill volunteer hours.  There are many volunteer opportunities for athletes, not just parents.  Volunteer hours will be awarded for helping with:

  • FSCPC events and activities, including Board service
  • Interclub Events
  • Other U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned events
  • JANS Winter Welcome
Multiple Family Athletes
  • Having multiple athletes does not increase a family’s work deposit or volunteer requirement. Multiple athlete families have the same work deposit and volunteer hour requirement as single athlete families.
  • Volunteer requirements for families who have members at multiple membership levels are determined based on the highest membership level of a member in their family.
    • Example: Families with an introductory and a full member are considered full member families.
