Skater Recognition

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible for any of the recognition benefits offered by the FSCPC, a skater must meet the following requirements for a minimum of two (2) Club seasons (July-June) prior to the recognition achievement: 

  • Skater must be an active, full-club member of FSCPC.  "Active" means:
    • Skater trains at least 40 hours per year at Park City Ice Arena
    • Skater performs in at least one show (Holiday or Spring)
    • Skater participates in at least one activity (Club Fundraising, Junior Board, Skating on Club Ice, Park City Icing Synchronized Skating, parent is FSCPC Board Member)
  • Skater must be in financial in good standing.
  • Skater must have met FSCPC Volunteer Policy Requirement.
  • Skater must have met FSCPC Fundraising Policy requirements.

For synchronized skating recognition, 90% of team members must meet the above requirements; FSCPC will not pay for any non-club or associate club member’s recognition.  These members are eligible for recognition but at their own cost.

If a Full club member skater meets all eligibility requirements but for less than two (2) club seasons, their eligibility for recognition will be at the discretion of the FSCPC Board.

If a full club member skater is injured and cannot participate in one of the shows, but meets all other eligibility requirements, their recognition will be at the discretion of the FSCPC Board.

COMPETITIVE TEAM JACKET

  • Skaters competing at the Juvenile level or above are eligible to purchase a competitive team jacket. 
  • FSCPC will pay to embroider “Competitive Team” on the purchased team jacket OR the skater’s traditional club jacket.
  • FSCPC will facilitate ordering competitive team jackets at the skater's expense.  Application must be given to Recognition Chair.

SEND-OFF PARTIES

Skaters competing at the qualifying level or above for their discipline will receive a send-off party allowing skaters to exhibit their routines: 

  • NQS Disciplines: Skaters competing at Regionals, Sectionals and/or Nationals.
  • Excel Series: Skaters who qualify for the Excel National Festival.
  • Solo Ice Dance: Skaters who qualify for finals through the Solo Dance Competitive Series.
  • Adults: Skaters who qualify for a Championship Event (from Sectionals)
  • Synchronized Skating: Teams who qualify for Sectionals and/or Nationals.

STIPENDS, GIFTS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Skaters competing at the qualifying level or above for their discipline will receive stipends, gifts and/or financial assistance as outlined below. Skaters MUST submit expenses to get reimbursed.

  • NQS Disciplines:
    • Sectionals: FSCPC pays skater’s entrance fee and one official practice ice.
    • Nationals or National Training Camp: FSCPC provides skater's with a financial stipend (dollar amount to be approved by FSCPC Board).
  • Excel National Festival: FSCPC pays skater’s finals entrance fee and one official practice ice.
  • National Solo Ice Dance Finals: FSCPC pays skater’s finals entrance fee and one official practice ice.
  • Adult Championships: FSCPC pays skater's entrance fee and one official practice ice.
  • Synchronized Skating Nationals
    • FSCPC will purchase Transpacks for team members with the Park City Icing Logo and skater’s name embroidered on the Transpack.
    • FSCPC pays team’s national entrance fee and one official practice ice.

PLAQUES & BANNERS

Skaters competing at the qualifying level or above for their discipline will be recognized via plaque and/or banner as outlined below.

  • NQS Nationals (Junior & Senior Only): FSCPC purchases a banner recognizing the skater to be displayed in the ice rink.
  • Excel National Festival: If skaters medals 1-4, FSCPC adds skater’s name and placement to a group plaque to be displayed in the trophy case.
  • National Solo Ice Dance Finals:  If skaters medals 1-4, FSCPC adds skater’s name and placement to a group plaque to be displayed in the trophy case.
  • National Showcase: If skater medals 1-4 in the final round in dramatic entertainment, duets, or light entertainment, FSCPC purchases a plaque for the trophy case with the skater’s name, year, event skated, placement, and a photo of the skater.
  • Gold Level (MIF, Ice Dance, Freestyle): FSCPC purchases an engraved plate for the Gold Medalist plaque in the Trophy case.
  • Adult Championships: If skater medals, 1-3, FSCPC purchases a plaque for the trophy case with the skater’s name, year, event skated, placement and a photo of the skater.
  • US Collegiate Championships: If skater medals 1-4 in the final round, FSCPC purchases a plaque for the trophy case with the skater’s name, year, event skated, placement, and a photo of the skater.
  • Synchronized Skating Nationals: If team competes at Nationals, FSCPC adds team name with date, level and placement to a group plaque to be displayed in the trophy case.
