Dance classes for figure skaters program will focus on different styles of dance. This program will help increase the athletes’ flexibility, agility and their ability to move more creatively and gracefully across the floor, which will then transfer to their on ice performance. The 3pm class is in jeopardy of being cancelled without additonal enrollment.
Pre-register for September freestyle sessions to save $1 per session. Pre-registered price per 1-hour freestyle session is $9.50. If the cashiers have to register the skater after the session has ended cost per session is $10.50.
Off-ice classes at the rink are offered Fridays 7:45-8:45am and Saturdays 9:15-10:15am. Pre-registration saves $1 per class.
Before our club ice has even begun, we have an unprecedented 33 Aspire members. That's a lot of new families! Please introduce yourself and introduce yourself when you see them at the rink.
Erika is the Aspire liaison so reach out to her with questions or concerns. erika.m.roberts@gmail.com (435) 513-0459.
There are 2 parts to the membership registration process so if you have not yet completed step 2 please do so ASAP. Lara Latham is our membership chair and can help with this step. You can reach her at laralatham@yahoo.com.
Our NEW Rink Music Console is here! With busy sessions this fall, it is imperative that all skaters with programs to practice have their music on a keycard. If your skater has lost their keycard, please ask Erika for a new one. The cost to replace a keycard is $10 payable to the club via Venmo or Zelle.
New FULL club members receive a complimentary keycard included with their membership fees. Aspire members must purchase a keycard. Again, see Erika to get a keycard. The cost of a new keycard is $10 payable to the club via Venmo or Zelle.
Our club ice sessions and programs begin this week! Many club ice sessions are sold out which means that punch cards will not be able to be used unless space is available on that session. Skaters planning to use a punch pass MUST check in with the ice monitor BEFORE getting on the ice to make sure there is a spot for them to take. The earlier sessions, 3:30 & 4pm on Mondays, 3:45pm on Wednesdays and the 7 & 7:30am sessions on Saturdays have more availability.
Make sure your skater checks in with the club ice monitor in the lobby BEFORE getting on the ice. With so many new members, the monitors will not know who many of the skaters are!
JANS Winter Welcome (JWW) is the premier fundraising event supporting youth winter sports programs in Park City. Each year, the Youth Sports Alliance teams up with our local sports programs to raise vital funds to support more than 2,800 kids training with seven YSA-supported competitive winter sport programs and participating in YSA's after-school programs, Get Out & Play and ACTiV8. 400 prominent members of the local community, the snow sports industry, and friends from across the country, mingle, dine and bid on auction items, while raising more than $400,000 to support teams and fund scholarships for junior athletes.
JWW is by far our biggest and most successful fundraiser of the year and the Figure Skating Club of Park City would not function as well as it does without JWW. Our fundraising needs to cover essential and non-essential expenses top $40,000 every year and our membership dues only cover a small portion of that expense. Funds from this event, including our opportunity drawing ticket sales and event tickets, not only help pay for essential fees and general expenses, but also fund a large portion of the Spring Show, subsidize weekly club ice fees, help cover the costs for clinics, competitions and test sessions, help pay for club parties and the annual banquet, and send coaches to PSA conferences and other learning opportunities.
YSA gives back to our club 100% of our fundraising earned through Opportunity Drawing Tickets and Auction Donations. This fundraiser has the potential to cover most of our club expenses and make fundraising the rest of the year a breeze. However, for this to be successful we need everyone to get involved and do their part.
A Silent and Live Auction will take place at the JWW Gala. The silent auction items will also be available online the week leading up to the event. Do you have a business contact, friend, or family member that would be willing to donate their business services and/or products? How about a vacation rental or time share? We are looking for as many items as possible with a value of $50 or higher and 1-2 (or more!) high value items with a value of $2500 or higher. Remember, our club receives 100% of the proceeds from the auction items’ final bids. Club members will also receive fundraising credits for the final bid price of auction items they secure. These funds are essential to our club’s success!
How to submit a donation:
Fill out an Auction Donation Form
Go to JWW Silent Auction Donation Google Doc
Once you have secured a donation, please contact Angie Lampert at angeladawnlampert@gmail.com or (913) 219-4780 to arrange for donation drop-off/pick-up and to make sure you receive your fundraising credit for the item.
In addition to collecting silent auction items, we need to sell as many Opportunity Drawing tickets as possible! Our awesome team has put together some great prizes for the Top 3 sellers!
Top Seller: First Pick of Holiday Show Song, Pie in the Face of a Coach & Ice Cream for you and a friend at Cold Stone Creamery
2nd Top Seller: Pie in the Face of a Coach & Ice Cream for you and a friend at Cold Stone Creamery
3rd Top Seller: Pie in the Face of a Coach
Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers as of October 27th.

There is one opening for a FSCPC athlete to represent our club on stage at the JWW fundraising event, greet arriving guests, and solicit funds from guests. This opportunity is appropriate for skaters in 5-6th grade, who are comfortable interacting with adults and mature enough to serve in this role. To be considered for this great opportunity, please, have your athlete submit a short essay (up to 1 page) about why they should be considered to represent our club. The essay should cover: what you love about our club, why you believe our club is worthy of community support and donations, how you see yourself interacting with guests the evening of the event, and a few examples of how you might approach guests to sell Opportunity Drawing tickets the night of the event. Essays should be emailed to fscpcpresident@gmail.com by September 13th.

Erika Roberts - Park City Municipal Corporation staff feature
Erika Roberts began skating at age seven and hasn’t looked back. Working her way up to national and international competition in both high school and college, Erika was an early pioneer in the sport of synchronized skating, competing at an elite level as a member of the Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating Team and at the first ever World Cup for the sport.
Gliding across the ice feels “simply magical” for Erika, and she loves to share that joy and passion for the ice with others. Lucky for us, she does just that as the Skating Academy Director at the Park City Ice Arena.
A certified U.S. Figure Skating and Professional Skaters Association Master Rated coach, Erika is charged with running all skating programs, camps, and clinics. She also coaches “just about everyone at all levels from beginner through national competitors, and all ages from two through 84!”
Originally from the Chicago area, Erika moved to Park City after completing graduate school. She joined Park City Municipal just before the Ice Arena opened in 2006.
While coaching (especially preschoolers!) can be a wild ride, Erika says her joy, humor, and positivity goes a long way toward success in the workplace. “Every day can’t be great, but you can do something great every day. I remind our participants that ice skating is hard, so very hard, but that they can do hard things! Life lessons happen on ice!"
Erika lives in Silver Springs with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, ice skating, skate skiing, paddle-boarding, and biking.
Thank you, Erika, for sharing your life’s passion with the community.
Representing the University of Denver for the first time, Brynn is the 2023 US Collegiate Senior Women’s Bronze Medalist and scholarship winner! Congratulations!!
