Tentative School year Figure Skating Schedule

This schedule is tentative and subject to change. Please always refer to the rink calendar which is live online. Park City Ice Arena Calendar (just enter date range)

August Basic Skating Camp

Join us for one more Basic Skating Camp this summer! We will have a group for our Aspire skaters. During this 3-hour camp, participants will have 2 on-ice sessions and 1 off-ice activity. All skaters will need to bring warm clothes, gloves or mittens, a water bottle and a healthy snack.

Figure Skating Club Updates

club ice & Club program registration opens August 15th

Members of the Figure Skating Club of Park City have the opportunity register for weekly club-sponsored ice time. Club ice sessions are 30 minutes in length and private and semi-private lessons with FSCPC coaches may be scheduled during these sessions.

  • 2023-2024 Season: Session 1 Dates (Blackout Dates Below)
    • Mondays - Sept 11 - Dec 11
    • Wednesdays - Sept 6 - Dec 13
    • Saturdays - Sept 9 - Dec 16
  • Pre-Registration guarantees the skater a spot in that session every week.
    • Sign-up for an entire session at a rate of $4.50 per week!
  • Separate registration required for club ice programming
    • Aspire, Bunny Hops, Low Freestyle
    • You do not also need to pre-register for club ice sessions to participate in these programs

NEW!! This year our coaches will be offering small group lessons during club ice for registered skaters!

Similar to what was offered this summer, our coaches will be offering small group classes to make getting more time on the ice with instruction more affordable and accessible! These group lessons will be an additional cost payable to the coaches directly. Participating skaters must be registered for the club ice session or use a punch pass.

Aspire/Bunny Hops Recommendations for the School Year

Recommended Club Ice Schedule for Aspire and Bunny Hop Skaters (snowplow Sam – Basic 3):

Monday :

5:30 – 6:15pm - On-ice Aspire/Bunny Hops club group class

Wednesday:

3:45-4:45pm – a small group or semi – private lesson followed by practice on your own. (sessions are sold in half an hour increments)

Private Lessons: 1-2 private lessons (20 min/lesson) recommended per week. Please talk with your primary coach (or Erika if you do not have a primary coach yet) to have these scheduled.

Recommended Club Ice Schedule for Aspire Skaters (Basic 3- Pre- Preliminary):

Monday :

3:30-5:30pm – a 20-30 minute small group or semi – private lesson (additional fee for lessons), 30-40 minutes of practice on your own. (sessions are sold in half an hour increments, please pick 2 sessions)

5:30-6:15pm - Aspire Program Group class

Wednesday:

3:45-4:45pm –30 minutes of practice on your own. (sessions are sold in half hour increments)

  4:45 – 5:15pm- On ice Low Freestyle Program group class  

  5:30 – 6:00 pm - Off ice Low Freestyle Program group class

Saturday:

8:00 – 9:00am  - 20-minute small group or semi–private lesson (additional fee for lessons)

40 minutes of practice on your own. (sessions are sold in half increments,  please pick 2 sessions)

 Private Lessons: 4-6 private lessons (20 min/lesson) recommended per week. Please talk with your primary coach to have these scheduled. These lessons will be scheduled amongst our team of coaches that are best suited for your skater to succeed.

For every hour of lessons skaters should be on ice practicing AT LEAST two hours on their own. If your skater does not practice before/after lessons, their lessons turn into practice.

Club Ice Programming

Members of the Figure Skating Club of Park City can register for specialized programming offered during Club Ice sessions that includes BOTH the ice time and coaching in a group class setting. If you or your skater registers for programming, you DO NOT also need to register separately for the corresponding club ice session.

MONDAY PROGRAMS

Aspire

Figure skating development program focused on skill building, including jumps, spins, skating skills, synchronized skating, introduction to ice dance.

  • Day/Time: Mondays 5:30-6:15pm
  • Recommended Age: All ages welcome with permission of a coach
  • Skating Level: Basic 3 - working on an axel
  • Cost: $238 ($17 per session)

Bunny Hops

Figure skating early skills development program focused on early skating skills, including jumps and spins.

  • Day/Time: Mondays 5:30-6:15pm
  • Skating Level: Snowplow Sam - Basic 3
  • Recommended Age: 3 - 5
  • Cost: $238 ($17 per session)

WEDNESDAY PROGRAMS

NEW!! MINI-HOPS

This is a group class just for our youngest club members. Skaters must have a current club membership to participate. With a focus on FUN, skaters will work on developing the skills necessary to progress as a future figure skaters.

  • Day/Time: Wednesdays 3:15-3:45pm
  • Skating Level: Snowplow Sam - Basic 3
  • Recommended Age: 3 - 6
  • Cost: $192 ($12 per session)

NEW!! Major-Hops

This is a group class for skaters who have an axel and at least 1 double jump through skaters working on triples. Similar to the Friday group class, skaters will work with coaches on jump or spin technique as well as other important skating skills in a collaborative environment.

  • Day/Time: Wednesdays 3:15-3:45pm
  • Skating Level: Preliminary - Senior
  • Cost: $192 ($12 per session)

Low Freestyle Program

This developmental program focuses on skating skills, beginning jump & spin technique, and "freestyle 101" (preparing/teaching skaters to safely skate on freestyle sessions).  Participating skaters should not yet have an axel jump. The program includes one 30 minute on-ice class that will vary in focus from week to week and one 30 minute off-ice class.

  • Day/Time: Wednesdays 4:45 - 5:15 pm (on-ice), 5:30 - 6:00 pm (off-ice)
  • Skating Level: Free Skate 1 through No-Test (pre axel)
    • Must obtain permission from the club or assistant club coordinator (Tiffany McNeil or Erika Roberts) to register.
  • Max 16 skaters
  • Cost: $323 ($19 per session)
    • NOTE: punch card skaters may use 3 punches to drop in for the class if space is available.

JOIN THE FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE!

For the past few years, the fundraising committee has consisted of 2-3 parents doing a 5-6 person role. We would LOVE to get more help! In an effort to do so, this year our fundraising committee volunteers will receive their full volunteer commitment satisfied by participating in this committee. This committee is also a great opportunity to easily fulfill your fundraising requirements and earn fundraising rewards for your skater. FOR THE LIVE AUCTION!

Every year, we hope to secure one large item/experience/vacation that our club will put into the live auction at the JWW Gala. This item typically has a value of at least $2500. Be thinking of any ideas or connections you may have that can help. Past items have included Home Christmas Lighting, a block party for 50 with a food truck and musical entertainment, a weeklong vacation in Napa Valley, a stay & play vacation in Park City. All full club members received a FSCPC hoodie as a gift at the banquet. There are plenty of sweatshirts available for purchase in all sizes. Aspire members and associate members did not receive a hoodie as a gift. We have them at the rink. If Amanda Brady or Phoebe Hawkins are working they can help you. Erika can also get you one. Cost is $30 payable via Venmo or Zelle to the club.
